ADRIAN, Mich. (Aug. 3, 2007) — Wacker Chemical Corp. has promoted Ingo Kovar to president and CEO, and named Levi J. Cottington IV to succeed him as vice president, business unit elastomers.
Kovar succeeds Dirk Funke, whose new duties will be announced later, according to the firm´s executive board. The changes took effect Aug. 1.
Kovar will oversee international business development for the Wacker Silicones and Wacker Fine Chemicals businesses, and the firm´s SilMix and Kelmar business divisions.
His primary responsibilities include the overall management of the company with a focus on continued business growth and new market entry in the Americas and NAFTA region.
Cottington will lead the NAFTA-region business and its research and development, supply chain management, and sales and marketing functions.
