AKRON (July 31) — Goodyear is raising prices on consumer tires by up to 8 percent, depending on line, and on tread rubber for off-the-road tires by 5 percent, effective Aug. 1.
Goodyear cited higher costs of raw materials, transportation and other factors for the increases.
The tire price hikes affect Goodyear, Dunlop, Kelly and Goodyear associate brand passenger and light truck tires.
Goodyear last raised prices on consumer tires April 1 by 4 percent. The OTR tread rubber price increase is the second 5-percent hike this year, following an increase April 2.
Goodyear also raised prices on commercial tires May 1, by 5 percent.
