INDIANAPOLIS (July 17) — Balance and uniformity test equipment maker Kokusai Inc. has moved its North American headquarters to another site in Indianapolis to accommodate its growth in the automotive and tire markets.
The unit of Japan´s Kokusai Co. Ltd relocated to a 25,000-sq.-ft. building about a mile from its previous 12,500-sq.-ft. plant, completing the move on June 30, said John Funcheon, vice president and GM of Kokusai USA. No interruption of production occurred during the transfer.
"This larger facility will enable us to manufacture more products as well as increase product development focused on the North American market," Funcheon said. "The new location will also allow more room for customer product demonstrations and for equipment acceptance testing."
He said the facility now makes about 15 to 20 different products.
