AKRON (July 16) — Goodyear has secured an exclusive replacement and retreaded truck tires and services "supply arrangement" with Eagan, Minn.-based Dart Transit Co.´s network through 2008.
Dart is the 14th largest truckload dry-van carrier in the U.S. and runs 2,750 trucks and 7,600 trailers, Goodyear said. In May, the privately held company expanded its services in seven Western states.
"We´re obviously excited to be working with the Dart Network," said Steve McClellan, Goodyear´s vice president of commercial tire systems. "Our ability to offer a comprehensive service package of original equipment, replacement and retread tires as well as value-added services are key to this new agreement."
Goodyear will supply Dart with tires made in its plants in Danville, Va.; Buffalo; and Topeka, Kan. This is Goodyear´s first supply agreement of this kind with Dart, a spokesman said. The firms did not disclose the value.
