ALKEN, Belgium (July 10) — Helvoet Pharma has started building a factory for rubber closures in Alken.
The pharmaceutical closures division of Switzerland´s Datwyler Holding A.G. will make a new line of rubber packing components at the facility, the firm said. The plant will cost about $30.2 million and start up in January 2009.
The factory will be equipped with the latest technology, with clean rooms and particular emphasis on production flow and validation processes, Helvoet Pharma said.
The product line will be rubber components for pharmaceutical packaging and medical systems, the company said. The facility also will produce rubber parts for prefilled syringes.
