NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 9) — Bridgestone Firestone Latin American Tire Operations has made two changes to president positions within the unit, effective Aug. 1.
Oscar Rodriguez, currently the president of Bridgestone Firestone Venezolana C.A., will become president of Bridgestone Firestone de Costa Rica S.A. Rodriguez succeeds Humberto Gomez, who was appointed president of Bridgestone Firestone do Brasil Industria e Comercio Ltda. earlier this year.
Alfredo A. OrÃ¡n will take Rodriguez´s position as president of Bridgestone Firestone Venezolana C.A.
Rodriguez first joined the Venezuelan unit in 1986 as a quality inspector and an hourly paid worker in the company´s plant and has held positions of increasing responsibility both in manufacturing and in the company´s sales and marketing organization, BFS said. Prior to his assignment as president in December 2004, Rodriguez served as production supervisor; process engineer; division manager, tire building and curing; domestic sales manager; sales and marketing director; vice president, sales and marketing; and vice president, manufacturing operations.
OrÃ¡n, a 26-year veteran of manufacturing, purchasing and engineering operations, has experience serving as general manager of Dana Corp. — Venezuela; and materials management manager for General Motors Venezuela.
