The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched a patent infringement probe of 31 international nitrile glove manufacturers after a complaint by Tillotson Corp.
The ITC action follows a May 30 filing on behalf of Georgia-based Tillotson Corp. by law firm King & Spalding L.L.P. The company claims three of the world's largest rubber glove makers have infringed on Tillotson's intellectual property, King & Spalding said.
The complaint names Malaysian manufacturers Top Glove Corp Bhd., Supermax Corp. Bhd. and Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd.
More than 2.2 billion nitrile gloves were imported into the U.S. in the past four years, with a retail value of nearly $250 million, according to the law firm.
