Michelin cycle tire recall launched
Michelin North America Inc. is recalling 19,924 motorcycle tires in the U.S. and Canada because of a tread separation issue.
The recall, announced June 15, applies to certain Michelin Pilot Power 2CT and Pilot Power front motorcycle tires, size 120/70 ZR 17 (58W), the company said. The tires were made in France.
At speeds exceeding highway riding, the tires may have an abnormal deformation in the tread, which could be accompanied by localized sections of tread separation, Michelin said. The recalled tires also could experience vibration and create an unstable riding condition.
