PASADENA, Calif. (July 3) — Dow Chemical Co. has hired Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. to design the announced expansion to the firm's solution elastomer plant in Schkopau, Germany.
The project involves adding a third process train to the existing production facility. Jacobs said it will perform detailed engineering for the process unit's portion and managing the offsite interfaces.
The firm will do the detailed engineering entirely from its office in Mumbai, India, with management from its hydrocarbon center in Leiden, Netherlands. The project is scheduled for completion in 2008.
The companies didn't disclose the value of the contract.
