GREENVILLE, S.C. (June 22) — Michelin North America Inc. is recalling 19,924 motorcycle tires in the U.S. and Canada as part of an effort announced June 15.
The recall applies to certain Michelin Pilot Power 2CT and Pilot Power front motorcycle tires, size 120/70 ZR 17 (58W), that were made in France.
The tires have DOT codes of 6CUW 980T and 6UCW 979T.
At speeds exceeding highway riding, the tires may have an abnormal deformation in the tread, which could be accompanied by localized sections of tread separation, Michelin said June 22. The recalled tires also could experience vibration and create an unstable riding condition.
Consumers who have the recalled tires are urged to have them replaced at Michelin motorcycle tire dealers, who will be reimbursed by Michelin. For more information, call 866-324-2835.
