CHANGZHOU, China (June 19) — Japanese belt maker Nitta Corp. has opened a plant in the Changzhou National Hi-tech District in eastern China to produce precision driving belts.
The industrial district—located between Shanghai and Nanjing—said Nitta Corp. of Changzhou will manufacture belts made of polyamide films and highly wearable synthetic rubber, used to drive machines in the fiber, paper-making and flour-milling industries. The factory is the third enterprise in the zone for Nitta, and the first belting operation.
Nitta Corp. of Changzhou should achieve sales of $2.63 million in 2007, and rise to $3.68 million in 2008, the industrial district said.
