STOCKHOLM, Sweden (June 12) — Hexagon A.B. will ask shareholders to approve a separate listing for its Hexagon Polymers business on the Nordic Exchange. The listing is planned for the first half of 2008.
Hexagon Polymers comprises Hexagon´s rubber compounding activity bringing together Thona, GFD and other operations. It supplies specialty rubber compounds and gaskets for plate heat exchangers and also is a leading player in the plastic and rubber wheel industry.
Ola Rollen, Hexagon A.B.´s newly appointed president and CEO, said the polymers business has achieved a size and profitability that makes it attractive on its own merits. A separate listing, he said, will help it continue to grow organically and through acquisitions.
Hexagon Polymers operates eight compounding facilities around the world and is building two more: one in Mexico and one in China. The company reported sales of more than $265 million in 2006.
