TYLER, Texas (June 1) — Rex-Hide Inc. has acquired Midwest Custom Mixing Inc. to bolster and complement the company´s mixing capabilities.
The blending of expertise and capacity from the North Miami, Okla.-based custom mixer will benefit both sets of customer bases, said Dave Mohr, president of Rex-Hide subsidiaries Dyna-Mix Inc. and Rex-Hide Industries Inc. Midwest adds its particular prowess in small internal and mill mixing and black materials to the Rex-Hide fold, he said.
Midwest employs about 19 at its Oklahoma facility. Down the road, the operation likely will be merged into the Dyna-Mix facility in Tyler, with the bulk of the key people, including General Manager Stacey Morgan, making the move, Mohr said.
Tyler-based Rex-Hide does the majority of its business in custom mixing and adhesives, but also has specialty extrusion operations. The company employs about 250 people at its sites, which include three plants in Grafton, W.Va., operations in Tyler and other facilities in Ohio, Colorado and Mississippi.
