BOSTON (May 14) — Cabot Corp. has set aside $10 million as a reserve to settle some lawsuits relating to antitrust activities, according to a recent Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
In a statement, Cabot said it set aside the reserve "based on settlement discussions among the company and the plaintiffs in the federal carbon black antitrust litigation."
Cabot acknowledged in its 10-K filing earlier this year it is one of several named defendants in an antitrust lawsuit pending in U.S. Federal District Court relating to carbon black sold in the U.S.
