MIDLAND, Mich. (March 21) — Dow Chemical Co. is hiking prices on April 1 for two polyurethane curatives in the U.S. and Canada, and for synthetic rubbers sold in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.
The company said it will boost prices by 10 cents per pound on Voranate toluene diisocyanate and five cents per pound on methylene diphenyl diisocyanate sold in the U.S. and Canada. Tight supply and volatility in raw material and energy costs were blamed for the increases. The firm last raised TDI prices on Oct. 1, 2006.
Dow Europe GmbH announced prices will rise the equivalent of $66 per metric ton for Nordel IP and MG EPDM, and by $107 for all other grades of synthetic rubbers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India. That follows an increase on Oct. 1 for the SRs in those regions, as well as a price hike for Nordel MG in the U.S. and Canada.
