MUNICH, Germany (March 19) — Mannesmann Plastics Machinery Group is merging its Berstorff extrusion machinery business into its Krauss-Maffei plastics and rubber machinery organization as part of a larger restructuring.
MPM said by merging the extrusion businesses the combined company will cover a wider range of applications and end products in the field of extrusion technology and — with the exception of the sheet extrusion — there will be no overlaps in the product ranges.
The customers will benefit from a wider product line, said Chairman and CEO Richard Osborne. The merger will be finalized by the end of fiscal year 2006-07.
Osborne will become chairman of the MPM Advisory Board. His successor effective April 1 will be Dietmar Straub, who will implement the strategic decisions as CEO and chairman of the management board.
