BANGKOK (March 8) — The International Rubber Study Group has released its preliminary agenda for the 43rd Assembly of Nations and World Rubber Summit, scheduled for Bangkok May 14-18.
Keynote speaker at the World Rubber Summit May 14-15 will be Adisak Sreesunpagit, director general of the Thailand Department of Agriculture, who will speak on the natural rubber planting and production outlook for Thailand, the world's largest natural rubber producer.
Other speakers will address the NR outlook in Indonesia, the Philippines, Cambodia and Myanmar. On the synthetic rubber side, Jim McGraw, managing director and CEO of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers, will discuss SR capacity and supply, and Matthew Thoelke of Chemical Market Associates Inc. will speak on cost and market drivers for the future SR market.
Tire technology, scrap tires, reclaimed rubber and natural rubber pricing also will be addressed at the meeting. IRSG Secretary General Hidde Smit will discuss global demand and supply challenges for NR and SR.
