NAPLES, Fla. (Feb. 28) — Engineered rubber powder manufacturer Lehigh Technologies Inc. has reached a strategic recycling agreement with scrap tire processor MTR Inc. Under the agreement, Lehigh will host a crumb rubber processing facility at MTR´s Jackson, Ga. tire collection and recycling plant.
The crumb operation will provide all of the feedstock for Lehigh's Tucker, Ga. fine powder processing facility, and the closed-loop, recycling/reuse program at Jackson will allow Lehigh and MTR together to offer customers a low-cost method of processing factory discards into reusable raw materials. "With this partnership, we will be able to have extreme control over our entire feedstock process, pleasing the industry's most discerning customers," Lehigh President Dennis J. Gormley said in a news release.
