CHICAGO (Feb. 9) — Bridgestone/Firestone launched a new passenger tire and a heavy-duty light truck and commercial tire line at the Chicago Auto Show.
The Bridgestone Turanza with Serenity Technology all-season is aimed at premium touring cars. The tire is available in 22 H-, V- and W-rated sizes with 15- to 19-inch rim diameters. The H-rated sizes carry a 70,000-mile limited treadwear warranty, while the V-rated sizes carry a 50,000-mile warranty and the W-rated sizes a 45,000-mile warranty. The tires also feature a 30-day trial.
"Our new Serenity Technology incorporates many features from our other innovations, providing a quiet, comfortable ride with outstanding wet performance and long wear," said Phil Pacsi, vice president of North American consumer tire marketing for BFS.
BFS also introduced the Duravis line of light truck and commercial tires. The line is focused on high mileage, durability and reliable performance for fleets and personal or commercial light truck drivers.
The line will include two tires for commercial highway use, the Duravis R500 HD and the Duravis R250.
At the Chicago Auto Show, BFS also formally launched its new slogan for the Bridgestone brand: "It´s Bridgestone or Nothing." The Nashville, Tenn.-based tire maker announced the slogan during its dealer conference at the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show in November.
