AKRON (Jan. 30) — Goodyear named Charles Mick to the newly created position of vice president and general manager, North American holdings and integration.
Mick will have general management responsibility for Goodyear´s Canadian tire business as well as oversight of Goodyear´s interests in Tire & Wheel Assembly, an original equipment tire/wheel mounting joint venture. He also will lead the integration of Goodyear´s North American shared services activities to support the company´s plans to cut costs.
The Akron-based tire maker also announced that Joseph Copeland, formerly CEO of Goodyear´s South Pacific Tyre business, will succeed Mick as vice president and general manager of the global off-highway tire business. Copeland will be responsible for Goodyear´s worldwide off-the-road, aviation and race tire business units.
Replacing Copeland as CEO and managing director at South Pacific Tyre will be Judith Swales. She previously served as managing director of the unit's retail business, where she led the modernization of the firm´s sales locations in Australia and New Zealand.
