NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 22, 2007) — Eduardo Minardi has succeeded Jorge Gonzalez as president of Bridgestone Firestone Latin American tire operations.
Ariel Depascuali, president of Bridgestone/Firestone´s subsidiary in Argentina, assumed Minardi´s last post, president of Bridgestone Firestone Mexico S.A. de C.V. Daniel Benvenuti, the Argentinean firm´s vice president and commercial director, was named president of that unit.
Minardi has been with the company since 1989, and served in his last post since 2002. Depascuali came to the firm in 1999 as head of technical services in Argentina, and Benvenuti has been with the tire maker for 22 years. He was vice president and commercial director of the Argentine business since 2001.
Gonzalez joined the former Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. in 1968 as a computer operator in Akron. He held various positions throughout the world during his career, including manager of the firm´s Venezuelan business and president of the BFS Mexican operations.
He also was an executive vice president and director of Bridgestone Americas Holding Inc.
