HEBRON, Conn. (Jan.12) — EER Ltd. will manage scrap tire recycling and retreadable casing logistics for aviation tires removed from U.S. Air Force and Army aircraft, supporting Michelin Aircraft Tire Co. L.L.C.´s contract with the Department of Defense.
Michelin was awarded a 10-year, $700 million-plus contract to handle aircraft tire logistics worldwide for all branches of the military.
EER said it will manage its responsibilities using a wholly owned subsidiary, Tire Removal Services Inc. EER also will contract with regional recyclers and haulers to build a national network to meet the military´s needs, the Hebron-based firm said.
The company´s activities will be coordinated with Lockheed Martin MS2´s command center. Lockheed Martin is Michelin´s logistics partner.
