PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Jan. 2) — Bayer MaterialScience L.L.C. has lifted "force majeure" regarding its ability to supply toluene diisocyanate products in North America, effective Jan. 1.
The company declared "force majeure" following an incident on Sept. 26 that damaged the firm´s TDI production line at its Baytown, Texas, facility.
Reconstruction of the damaged unit was completed ahead of schedule, the company said. TDI is used to manufacture flexible foam for bedding and seat cushions.
