Since 1931, R.T. Vanderbilt Company, Inc. has been actively involved in the latex industry, constantly striving to develop new technologies for this ever-changing market. Over the years, Vanderbilt has published three handbooks on the subject along with numerous papers. When Crain Communications and Akron Dispersions decided that the latex industry needed its own conference, Vanderbilt could not pass up the opportunity to be involved. Since the conferences inception, Vanderbilt has presented many papers on a range of technologies that are important to the latex industry including two on our sodium-based liquid accelerators, two on our antioxidants and antioxidant synergists, one on our patented polyisoprene cure system, and one on our patent-pending work with peroxide emulsions. This paper will take a look at some of these past reports and give an update on some of the new developments that have happened since that time.
