The Asian latex industry continues to make significant advances in the production and usage of Natural and Synthetic Latices. Recent trends in the production and consumption of Natural and Synthetic Latices is discussed. The projected supply-demand projections to 2011AD in the ASEAN/S.Asian latex producer-user countries is provided. The technocommercial impact of recent technology advances in the manufacture of compatibilised interpolymer latex blends and the derived dry masterbatches of polar/non polar natural and synthetic rubbers is discussed in the context of the tight supply projections for NR and SR latices. The data on the blended polymers processing behaviour and physical properties both compounded Latex and dry masterbatches is presented with their usage potentials in traditional latex-based and non-traditional dry rubber product applications. Some preliminary data on the effect of submicron chemical dispersions and selected nanofiller materials in these latex blends is also provided.
