LEVERKUSEN, Germany (Dec. 27) — Lanxess A.G.´s Technical Rubber Products business unit plans to increase prices of nitrile rubber, chloroprene rubber, ethylene-propylene-diene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber worldwide effective Jan. 1.
Increases will be between $65 and $500 per metric ton. The firm said the increases were to compensate for rises in raw material and energy costs which were not fully absorbed by efficiency programs. NBR will jump by $500 per metric ton because of particularly high unsatisfactory profit levels in that area, according to the company.
