ARLINGTON, Va. (Nov. 29) — The U.S. Alliance for the Polyurethanes Industry has announced that its director, Dick Mericle, will retire at the end of 2006.
Under Dick´s leadership for the past five years, membership and participation have improved significantly, according to a statement from Bruce Kuiken of the American Chemistry Council and Doug Warner of Dow Chemical Co.
The success of the API Technical Conferences and Exhibitions, doubling of membership and retention and growth of staff are hallmarks of Dick´s leadership, the statement said. Mericle leaves the Alliance in sound financial condition and as an important, integrated part of the American Chemistry Council, it said.
His leadership, loyalty to the polyurethanes industry, and tireless energy will be missed, Kuiken and Warner said.
API has begun to search for a new director.
