NOVI, Mich. (Nov. 27, 2006) — Cooper-Standard Automotive Inc. has named James McElya chairman and CEO, and Ed Hasler president and chief operating officer.
McElya succeeds S.A. "Tony" Johnson, who has become lead director.
McElya previously served as president and CEO. He has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive sector and had been a corporate vice president at Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. and president of Cooper-Standard Automotive before the business was sold. He also previously was president of Siebe Automotive Worldwide, a division of Invensys P.L.C., and spent 22 years with Handy & Harman in executive management positions
Hasler is responsible for leading the global operational activities for the company´s three divisions. For the past three years, Hasler has been president of the firm´s Global Sealing division, a role he will retain.
