CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. (Nov. 14) — Rubber recycler Edge Rubber has added a new production line for fine-mesh powders at its 33,000-sq.-ft. plant in Chambersburg, according to Sam Kauffman, Edge Rubber general and sales manager.
The production line will be on-stream by Dec. 1, and the company will hire three new full-time employees to operate it around the first of the year, Kauffman said.
Edge Rubber currently produces close to 40 million pounds annually of 20 to 80 mesh rubber for brake and tire applications, but just under 1 million pounds of 140 and 200 mesh powders for specialty adhesives, epoxies and paints. The new production line will allow the company to expand fine-mesh production to several million pounds annually, Kauffman said.
