TRELLEBORG, Sweden (Nov. 8) — Trelleborg A.B. has bought Dumfries, Scotland-based Hunter Diving Ltd., a privately owned manufacturer of dry diving suits for professional divers, but will transfer production in the next few months to a Trelleborg plant in Lithuania.
"Through the acquisition of Hunter Diving, we will further strengthen our market-leading position in this attractive segment," said Lennart Johansson, president of the Trelleborg Engineered Systems business unit.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Hunter's annual sales are about $1.4 million and vary as a result of project deliveries, Trelleborg said. Trelleborg intends to transfer production to its existing business in Taurage, Lithuania.
Trelleborg Protective Products, part of Trelleborg Engineered Systems, develops and markets protective products for extreme environments, including chemical protective suits of the Trellchem brand and diving suits of the Viking brand.
