AKRON (Nov. 7) — Myers Industries Inc. reported a 6.8-percent gain in net sales for the third quarter as well as a 22.4-percent increase in net income to $6.06 million.
Myers´ sales hit $185.8 million, up from $174 million last year.
For the nine months ending Sept. 30, Myers´ sales rose 7.3 percent to $585.7 million. Net income from continuing operations for the period rose to $21.4 million from $13.5 million last year.
In the firm´s distribution segment — which includes Myers Tire & Supply Co. — sales rose 2.8 percent in the quarter to $50.7 million and 4.7 percent for the nine months to $147.4 million.
