GREENVILLE, S.C. (Oct. 10) — Dynamic Tire Corp. has agreed to no longer distribute certain Chinese-made tires as part of a settlement with Michelin North America Inc. in a patent infringement case, the Greenville-based tire maker said.
Michelin said it dropped its lawsuits in the U.S. and Canada, and Dynamic—which is now part of GPX International Tire Corp.—will no longer distribute the Aeolus HN305, Aeolus HN308, Aeolus HN328, Aeolus HN329, Triangle 696 and Triangle 689 tires. Dynamic also removed some content from its Web site, Michelin said.
Michelin did not disclose the financial settlement.
The tire maker also said Dynamic has dropped its libel suits — filed in Canada against media outlets including Tire Business, a sister publication of Rubber & Plastics News — over its reporting of Michelin's suit.
Michelin sued Dynamic in April 2005, claiming Dynamic was distributing what Michelin said were Chinese-made "copycat versions" of its own tires.
