BATON ROUGE, La. (Sept. 19) — Albemarle Corp. will raise prices by up to 15 percent on its polymer antioxidants and additive blends effective Oct. 1 or as contracts allow.
The increase will be for its Ethanox- and Ethaphos-brand polymer antioxidants and ALBlend-brand polymer additive blends. The announcement "comes after multiple months of cost increases in raw materials, packaging materials and shipping," said John McChesney, global business manager for antioxidants.
The Ethanox lubricant and fuel antioxidants enhance stability, improve performance and extend storage life of petroleum-based lubricants and fuels. The Ethanox and Ethaphos antioxidants maintain the performance integrity and processing stability of polyolefin-based plastics, elastomers, adhesives and other materials.
