LEVERKUSEN, Germany (Sept. 19) — Lanxess A.G. said that it has relaunched production of its Vulkanox DPPD-brand rubber antioxidant following numerous requests from customers.
Commercial volumes of the product will be available again during the fourth quarter. The antioxidant is made at the firm's Isithebe, South Africa, operation and distributed worldwide from there.
Vulkanox DPPD is used in the rubber sector as an antioxidant and is a more effective antiozonant than its chemical counterpart, Vulkanox 3100, according to Lanxess. Vulkanox DPPD´s applications include as a stabilizer in elastomer manufacture and as an inhibitor in monomers for avoiding undesirable polymerization reactions.
