QUINCY, Ill. (Sept. 11) — Titan Tire Corp. and Titan Wheel Corp. of Illinois — subsidiaries of Titan International, Inc. — have entered a new five-year wheel and tire supply agreement with Grove U.S. L.L.C., maker of mobile hydraulic, truck mounted and industrial cranes.
"Titan is happy to partner with Grove, a company known for strong, reliable lifting solutions, in this long-term commitment," said Maurice Taylor Jr., Titan chairman and CEO. "The General (off-the-road) tire brand is a leader in the crane industry, and Titan´s wheels are the best in the business.
"Grove´s customers will benefit from quality equipment, paired with leading American-made Titan assemblies."
Titan expanded its off-highway tire business with the acquisition of Continental Tire North America Inc.´s Bryan, Ohio, OTR tire facility on July 31. The company´s dealer network includes Titan, Goodyear and Continental/General brands.
In other Titan news, the company´s board of directors approved a quarterly cash dividend of a half cent per common share for the third quarter of 2006. The cash dividend is payable October 16 to stockholders of record on September 29, the company said.
