NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 8) — Bridgestone/Firestone has purchased Roanoke, Va.-based White Tire Inc., one of North America's largest commercial tire dealerships.
Terms of the transaction were undisclosed. White Tire operates 11 commercial centers, four combination commercial/retail locations, six auto service centers and six Bandag franchised retreading plants in Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
BFS said the dealership now is a subsidiary called White Tire L.L.C. and will continue doing business as White Tire. The dealership sells Bridgestone, Firestone, Michelin, Yokohama, Continental and General brands.
The Nashville-based tire maker said it has no plans for changes in management or operating structure. Larry DeHaven has been the dealership's president.
In 2005 White Tire reported sales of $61 million and projected $65 million for 2006.
