ATLANTA, Ga. (Aug. 23) — Vystar Corp. and Revertex Malaysia have signed a letter of intent to produce Vytex, a new natural rubber latex created by Vystar.
The companies plan to launch production of Vytex latex by the first of next year, according to Vystar President William Doyle. He expects products made from the new latex to reach the market in 2007.
Vytex natural rubber latex is produced through a proprietary process that deactivates antigenic proteins in latex potentially making it safe for use by most people who are allergenic-protein sensitive, the Atlanta-based company said.
The firm said Revertex is a large producer of prevulcanized rubber lattices and post vulcanizable latex compounds.
"Revertex is known for its expertise in producing some of the most stable latex compounds," said Vystar CEO Travis Honeycutt, who invented Vytex. In addition, Revertex supplies many of the types of manufacturers that may want to work the new natural rubber latex into their product lines.
