DEXTER, Mich. (July 25) — Jyco Sealing Technologies plans to establish a thermoplastic vulcanizate seal manufacturing facility in Sonora, Mexico, the company announced.
The Jyco Mexico operation will supply TPV sealing systems to automotive original equipment plants in Mexico and South America.
The venture will be based in an 18,000-sq.-ft. site in an industrial park that also hosts production facilities for a number of other North America-based Tier 1 automotive suppliers. Jyco expects to employ about 40 workers once production is up to speed, the company said.
"Jyco Mexico is another major step in our goal to deliver better products and service to our customers no matter where they are in the world," said Shawn Jyawook, Jyco chief operating officer.
Dexter-based Jyco also established offshore subsidiaries based in Japan in 2004 and in Belgium in 2005.
