BARBERTON, Ohio (July 13) — Preferred Rubber Compounding Corp. has appointed Kenneth L. Bloom as its new president and CEO, the custom mixer announced today.
Bloom, a former president of building products firm Associated Materials Inc., replaces Timothy Eburne, who will become Preferred´s chairman of the board. Eburne — who ran Preferred as president for a total of seven years, leading it through two very successful periods — remains a partner in Watermill Ventures Ltd., of which Preferred is a portfolio company, the firm said.
At AMI, Bloom played a key role in growing company sales from $432 million to $1.1 billion in just over four years, through both organic growth and acquisition, a Preferred news release said. Prior to general management positions, he held various positions in sales and manufacturing.
Bloom holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. Always active in his customers´ markets, he was an executive committee member of the Vinyl Siding Institute, and also serves on the Board of Overseers of the Engineering School at Tufts.
Bloom is married with three children and resides in Cleveland.
