NUREMBERG,Germany (July 4) — Tecno Compounds is upgrading its four mixing lines at its Siziano, Italy, plant.
The compounding firm will upgrade one line in each of the next four years, said Umberto Montuoro, head of sales at the company.
Montuoro said the firm uses three lines for black compounds and one for colored recipes. This year Tecno will install a new chamber and new rotors for the K7 intermeshing mixer on the first line. Two more K7 units will follow and the fourth line, a K11D tangential mixer will get the same treatment.
Montuoro said Tecno Compounds is strong in the cable industry, and generates about 20 percent of its sales in the electrical sector. These compounds tend to be sold as granules, so the company is adding a second pelletizing line to double capacity for that application, he said.
The cost of the project wasn´t disclosed.
