CHARLOTTE, N.C. (July 3) — BASF Corp. said it will boost prices by 4 cents per dry pound on carboxylated and high solids styrene butadiene latex sold in the U.S. and Canada.
The increases — taking effect Aug. 1 or as contracts allow — on carboxylated SBR latex are targeted for customers in the adhesives, carpeting, coatings, construction, architectural and nonwovens industries. The high solids products are supplied to the carpet, construction and foam industries.
BASF blamed higher energy, raw material and transportation costs for the price increase.
