Huron Technologies Inc. has unveiled a water-based mold release agent for ``low gloss'' in-mold-painted applications for manufacturers of automotive interior components.
Release Coating 7307 provides a ``dry surface feel'' and improves ``scuff and mar'' surface characteristics. The release agent has spray outputs of up to 180 grams per minute and is available in 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums.
The company also introduced EZR324, a semi permanent, water-based mold release agent to improve rubber bonding to molded-in steel inserts. It is especially effective for EPDM and natural rubber, the company said, adding that the agent improves film life and adds about 15 to 25 percent to product productivity. In brief
Etco Inc. has introduced a line of air-operated, table-mounted booters that allow users to apply straight and angled rubber insulator boots onto terminated spark plug and distributor wiring at their own facilities. The Etco Straight Booters handle a variety of lengths and styles of boots and the angled booter uses Etco 90 degree boots.
The Bender/booter will work with Etco CB2, CB3, AB16, CB8, AB15 and AB20 boots along with DT2000LB, DT207LB, DT200B, DT257B, SP19 and DT7B ignition terminals. For more information, contact John Macaluso at 401-467-2400, e-mail [email protected] or visit www.etco.com.
A new haze-free thermoplastic elastomer promises to enable designers of foot care, personal care, medical and orthopedic products to offer new functionality and consumer appeal. The latest Monprene TPEs from Teknor Apex Co. provides improved clarity and can be formulated for ultra-softness in hardnesses from 30 to 60 on the Shore 00 scale.
The Monprene gels provide a clear appearance to grips, cushions and other padding or ``soft-touch'' products while providing comfort, the company said. For more information, call 401-725-8000 or (from the U.S. only) 866-438-8737 or e-mail [email protected]
ExxonMobil Chemical Co. has introduced two new materials-Santoprene thermoplastic vulcanizates for the automotive industry and Santoprene thermoplastic elastomer B150 bonding grades for use in consumer, industrial and automotive components.
Santoprene TPV weatherseal grades offer low surface coefficient of friction and improved adhesion to extruded TPVs, as well as good adhesion to EPDM polymer profiles.
Santoprene TPE B150 for overmolding applications provides stronger bonds and eliminates the need for adhesives, bonding agents, physical or mechanical interlocks, the company said. The grades also provide a soft-touch feel and easy colorability. For more information, visit www.santoprene.com.
Oilgear Co. has updated its PVV open-loop, axial piston pump to deliver four times the horsepower at about one-third the cost of previous models, it said.
The PVV pump, designed for large, heavy-duty systems, offers improved high response controls, reduced noise levels, and enhanced operational performance and contamination resistance, the company said.
The patented pressure lubricated swashblock offers high performance for high cycling operations. The pump is available in three displacements and multiple frame sizes. For more information, contact John Brossard at 414-327-1700 or visit www.oilgear.com.
Chronos Richardson Ltd. integrated modular small chemical weighing systems meet the diverse environmental and output requirements for the precise dust-free weighing of micro batches of powders, prills, pastilles, pellets and granules. Attention to details have optimized material usage, minimizing dust emissions while maximizing operator safety and providing detailed batch records, the firm said.
For applications where the number of ingredients is very large, Chronos offers manual weighing stations for ingredient preparation. For more information, call 44-115-935-1351; e-mail [email protected]; or visit www.chronosrichardson.com.
