TOKYO (May 31) — Bridgestone Corp. is donating $177,500 to support relief efforts to the May 27 earthquake on Indonesia´s Java island.
The contributions reflect Bridgestone´s longstanding commitment to Indonesia, the company said.
Bridgestone operates two tire plants in Indonesia — Bekasi and Karawang — and owns two rubber plantations, on Kalimantan and Sumatra. The activities employ more than 8,000.
The company made the donation through the Japan Red Cross.
