CLERMONT-FERRAND, France (May 31) — The family of Edouard Michelin has established a fund in his honor to assist the families of sailors lost at sea.
The fund is open to anyone who wishes to contribute. To address the monetary exchange issues, contributions from the United States may be sent to the following account which will be transferred to the European fund: Carolina First Bank, Help Fund for Sailors Lost at Sea (MNA, Inc.), 102 South Main Street, Greenville, S.C. 29601.
Contributions may also be made at any Carolina First Bank branch office. Please make all checks payable to: Help Fund for Sailors Lost at Sea (MNA, Inc.).
Michelin CEO Edouard Michelin, 42, drowned in a boating accident May 26 in the Atlantic Ocean off the French Brittany coast. His funeral is taking place today in Clermont-Ferrand.
Michelin is survived by his wife Cecille, six children, his father (and former Michelin managing partner) Francois, three brothers and two sisters.
