SOLON, Ohio (May 8) — Excel Polymers L.L.C. has doubled its rubber compounding capacity at a plant in California, and is planning to significantly expand its site in Shanghai, China.
The expansion at Excel´s Santa Fe, Calif., facility went on line in April, company officials said. The firm acquired the operation in 1993.
The Shanghai plant opened in 2004 to provide compounds for rubber roller manufacturers that serve the plastics, coatings and paper industries. Excel now will offer mixing services to a much broader variety of rubber product applications, the firm said.
The wholly owned subsidiary of Excel operates as EXLP Global (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., and is based at the Shanghai Nanhui Industrial Zone.
