HARTSVILLE, S.C. (May 8) — Michelin has joined with the Governor´s School for Science and Mathematics in Hartsville to establish a $15,000 diversity scholarship at the University of South Carolina´s College of Engineering and Information Technology.
Funded by a $250,000 grant from Michelin, the scholarship will support the engineering studies of a female and/or non-white graduate of the Governor´s School, according to a Michelin press release.
A new scholarship recipient will be named every year, the Greenville, S.C.-based tire maker said. Scholarship recipients will have opportunities to interact with high-level Michelin executives during their studies, Michelin said, and will also have the possibility of international internships with the company.
