SURBITON, England (March 31)—Biomaterials developer AorTech International P.L.C. has licensed St. Jude Medical Inc.´s Cardiac Rhythm Management Division to use Aortech´s Elast-Eon polyurethane-silicone material in cardiac rhythm management leads.
St. Jude Medical will pay AorTech $2 million initially, then make further scheduled payments, dependent upon usage and performance, of $4 million over the next two years.
AorTech CEO Frank Maguire said AorTech is confident Elast-Eon represents a new generation of materials for a wide range of implantable devices.
