MACON, Mo. (March 20) — Dutch rubber recycler Granuband B.V. has acquired Dash Recycled Rubber Inc. in Macon and plans to ramp up the firm´s operations to a round-the-clock schedule.
Amsterdam-based Granuband, a 15-year-old firm specializing in the mechanical recycling of rubber and making products from granulated rubber, will rename the Macon unit Granuband Macon L.L.C.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Granuband claims to have developed a proprietary process to separate tires into rubber, metal and nylon. It then uses the pulverized rubber to make Granuflex rubber tiles in various sizes and colors.
The Macon plant originally was set up by Welch Products Inc., which sold it in 2002 to Dash Multi Corp., which renamed it Dash Recycled Rubber.
