Wacker adds solid, self-adhesive offerings
Wacker Silicones has added two solid silicone grades and self-adhesive liquid silicone rubbers to its offerings.
The first bubble-free extrudable 10 Shore A silicone, Elastosill R 401/10 is suitable for food and medical applications as well as molding articles. Elastosil plus 4305/90 is impressive for its thermoplastic-like hardness, transparency and surface, while not compromising its silicone properties, the company said.
Elastosil LR liquid silicone rubbers are pasty, easily pigmented two-component blends that cure quickly. Eliminating the need for priming, they exhibit excellent adhesion on a large number of materials and feature outstanding mechanical and electrical properties, Wacker said. A new manual dumping station from Flexicon Corp. collects dust created during manual dumping of powder and bulk solid materials from bags, boxes, drums and other containers. The unit features a continuous high-velocity vacuum fan that draws airborne dust onto two cartridge filters. It is able to handle free- and non-free-flowing bulk materials ranging from large pellets to submicron powders, including products that pack, cake, seize, smear, fluidize, break apart or separate, the firm said. For more information, call 888-353-9426; e-mail [email protected]; or visit www.flexicon.com.
The Taskmaster TM1600 shredder from Franklin Miller Inc. quickly reduces waste solids from bulk solids reduction, product recycling, secure document or product destruction and more. Bulk volume is reduced up to 80 percent, the company said. The shredder employs two counter-rotating banks of cutters that intermesh at close clearance to aggressively chop and shear solids down to small particles, it said.
