KANSAS CITY, Kan. (Feb. 7) — Two sets of civil lawsuits involving allegations of rubber chemical price fixing have been consolidated in Kansas City federal district court for pre-trial motions.
Several Kansas City law firms have been tapped as local counsel for out-of-town firms representing both plaintiffs and defendants, said Charles German of the Kansas City firm of Rouse Hendricks German May. German is local counsel for a Washington, D.C. firm representing Lyondell Chemical Co.
It is uncertain at this time whether the cases will stay in Kansas City or revert to their original venues, German said, but a class certification hearing for one set of cases is scheduled for Dec. 11 before Kansas City District Judge John Lungstrum.
